Water is going to Andhra, funds are going to Delhi: Harish Rao Fires
Finance Minister T. Harish Rao has strongly criticized the Congress government, alleging that while the people of Telangana are suffering due to water scarcity, the government is letting precious water flow to Andhra Pradesh. He accused the Revanth Reddy-led administration of completely neglecting Telangana’s irrigation needs and farmers’ interests. “The rivers belong to us, but the water is being diverted unfairly. What is the government doing?” he questioned at a public meeting.
Harish Rao didn’t stop at water issues. He also slammed the Congress government for what he called “financial mismanagement” and claimed that state funds are being routed to Delhi instead of being utilized for the development of Telangana. “People voted for change, not for submission to Delhi. It looks like Telangana has become an ATM for the Congress high command,” Rao said, alleging that local priorities are being ignored for the benefit of central leadership.
He further warned that such policies could spark public outrage. “People are watching everything. They will not stay silent if injustice continues. We fought hard for this state for water, funds, and jobs. If this government can’t protect Telangana’s rights, the people will take charge again,” Harish Rao declared, signaling a renewed fight by BRS to reclaim lost ground.
