Uppal-Narapalli Corridor Set to Open by Dussehra, Says Minister Komatireddy
In a positive development for Hyderabad’s commuters, Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has announced a renewed push to complete the Uppal-Narapalli elevated corridor. The minister, during an on-site inspection along with local MLA Bandaru Lakshma Reddy and senior officials, expressed confidence that the much-anticipated infrastructure project would be opened to the public by the upcoming Dussehra festival. This announcement brings a sigh of relief to thousands of daily travelers who face significant traffic congestion in the Uppal area.
The Uppal-Narapalli elevated corridor is a crucial link in easing traffic flow on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway, one of the busiest arterial roads in the city. Once operational, the corridor is expected to decongest the route, shorten travel time, and improve overall traffic efficiency. Minister Komatireddy emphasized the importance of the project in transforming the commuting experience for residents in East Hyderabad and said that the government is prioritizing its completion.
During the inspection, the minister acknowledged that delays had occurred in the construction process. He pointed out that these delays were due to unavoidable technical and administrative reasons, such as land acquisition issues and utility shifting. However, he clarified that there was no need to cast blame on any department or contractor, as the current focus was on accelerating the pace of the remaining works.
Minister Komatireddy reiterated the government’s commitment to infrastructure development across the state, especially in urban centers like Hyderabad. He assured the public that necessary funds, resources, and manpower have already been mobilized to ensure the completion of the corridor on time. Officials have been instructed to work on a war footing to meet the deadline, with regular progress reviews scheduled in the coming weeks.
The minister also appreciated the efforts of the engineers, construction workers, and officials who have been working under challenging conditions to meet the government’s targets. He added that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government is keen on delivering timely infrastructure solutions to improve urban mobility and provide long-term benefits to the citizens.
With Dussehra only a few months away, the announcement has sparked fresh hope among daily commuters. Once completed, the Uppal-Narapalli elevated corridor will not only streamline traffic but also contribute to the economic and real estate growth of the surrounding areas. Citizens now await the corridor’s timely completion and the relief it promises to bring to Hyderabad’s traffic-weary residents.
