Telangana Govt to Digitize All Schools by 2026 – Smart Boards, AI Tools Incoming

In a major push towards digital transformation in education, the Telangana government has announced an ambitious plan to digitize all government schools by 2026. This initiative aims to bridge the urban-rural education gap and equip students with modern learning tools, preparing them for a tech-driven future. The digitization plan includes installing smart boards, providing tablets to students, and integrating AI-based learning platforms into the curriculum.

The government plans to roll out the digitization process in phases, starting with high schools and gradually expanding to upper primary and primary schools. Over 26,000 government-run schools are expected to be transformed under this initiative. As part of the first phase, more than 9,000 schools will be equipped with smart classrooms by March 2025. These classrooms will include internet connectivity, digital content, and teacher training programs.

One of the key components of this initiative is the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to personalize learning for each student. AI-based platforms will help track student performance, identify learning gaps, and suggest customized lessons accordingly. To support this digital transformation, the Telangana government has allocated a significant portion of its education budget for infrastructure development and procurement of digital tools. Additionally, training programs for teachers are being designed in collaboration with ed-tech companies and educational institutions to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies. The government is also working on partnerships with tech giants to provide content and devices at subsidized rates.

Officials believe that this digital leap will not only improve the quality of education but also boost student attendance and reduce dropout rates. With access to multimedia content, real-time feedback, and a more personalized learning journey, students are expected to show greater interest in studies. Moreover, online assessments and progress tracking will make the entire education system more transparent and efficient.
