Strict Action Against Crimes on Women: AP DGP’s Warning

Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta issued a strong statement emphasizing that those involved in crimes against women, particularly assaults and rape, will face the harshest punishment. He stated that the police department is committed to ensuring justice for women and is making use of the latest technology to gather solid evidence against the perpetrators. The DGP assured that legal proceedings are being accelerated in such cases and that law enforcement is fully dedicated to reducing these heinous crimes.

In a press note released by the DGP’s office on Tuesday, it was mentioned that punishment is being secured in the majority of cases related to crimes against women. The note highlighted the efficient coordination between the police and judiciary, which is helping in bringing the accused to justice swiftly. DGP Gupta said that there will be no leniency shown to the culprits and that strict legal action is a deterrent for others who may attempt such crimes.

One such example is the recent verdict from the Additional Sessions Court in Kadawa, where Krishnaiah, also known as Obulaiah (54), was convicted in a rape case involving a 33-year-old woman in Vapers. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh. This verdict stands as a reflection of the judiciary’s firm stance and the police’s rigorous investigation, ensuring that the victim receives justice and that such criminals are permanently removed from society.
