4. Avoid distractions like phones and music

While crossing the road, never look at your mobile phone or wear earphones. These distractions can make you miss the sound or sight of an oncoming vehicle, which can be very dangerous.

8. Be extra careful at night

At night, wear bright-colored or reflective clothing if possible. Visibility is low during dark hours, and drivers may not easily notice pedestrians. Always cross where there is good lighting.
