PM MODI DETAILS SCALE OF OPERATION SINDOOR
In a powerful address to Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided a detailed account of Operation Sindoor, highlighting the sheer scale and precision of India’s military response on May 9. Modi revealed that Indian defense systems had intercepted close to 1,000 Pakistani missiles and drones within a short span, calling it a testament to the country’s enhanced air defense and rapid response capability.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the decision to act militarily was driven solely by India’s national interests, without any external pressure or diplomatic influence. He categorically rejected international media speculation that foreign powers had urged India to halt operations. “India will take decisions in Delhi, not in Washington or London,” Modi asserted, drawing applause from both Houses.
Modi explained that the operation was triggered by an escalation of cross-border terror activity, particularly the infiltration attempts and the use of armed drones targeting civilian and military installations. He said that India responded with strategic restraint and tactical aggression, avoiding civilian casualties while disabling enemy infrastructure.
During his address, the Prime Minister commended the Indian Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and scientists for their coordination. He specifically mentioned the success of the indigenous missile defense systems like the Akash and Barak-8, which played a crucial role in intercepting hostile aerial threats with minimal reaction time.
He also stated that India’s advanced surveillance and satellite systems helped detect incoming threats early, enabling precise countermeasures. The use of AI-driven defense systems was also briefly noted as a game-changer in real-time threat management during the operation.
Modi took a firm stand against terrorism, declaring that India will continue to pursue terrorists and their handlers “wherever they are, and in whatever disguise they may come.” He said this operation should serve as a message to all hostile forces that India will not remain passive in the face of aggression.
In response to opposition queries, Modi maintained transparency while avoiding sensitive tactical specifics. He said Parliament would be briefed periodically about long-term national security initiatives and reforms. “We are not just defending borders – we are redefining defense doctrine for the next generation,” he added.
Concluding his speech, Prime Minister Modi assured citizens that their safety remains the government’s top priority. He called for national unity in the face of global instability and regional threats, saying, “A secure India is a strong India. And a strong India is a force for peace in the world.”
