Padi Kaushik Reddy Arrested at Shamshabad Airport
BRS MLA from Huzurabad, Padi Kaushik Reddy, was arrested at Shamshabad Airport by the Subedari Police on June 21st in connection with a case involving alleged threatening and extortion. According to police sources, the case was registered based on a complaint alleging that Kaushik Reddy had made threats and attempted to intimidate individuals over a land-related dispute. The arrest sparked immediate political tension in Telangana, especially given Reddy’s prominence as a vocal supporter of former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao.

KTR Slams Arrest as Political Vendetta
Reacting strongly to the arrest, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) condemned the action, terming it a “blatant and undemocratic act.” He accused the ruling Congress government, particularly CM Revanth Reddy, of orchestrating the arrest to settle political scores. KTR questioned the timing and manner of the arrest, claiming it was part of a broader pattern of harassment against opposition leaders in Telangana. He demanded an immediate explanation from the government and warned that such misuse of power would not go unchallenged.

Growing Political Tensions in Telangana
The arrest comes at a time of heightened political rivalry in Telangana, especially after the Congress party’s strong showing in recent elections. BRS leaders allege that the Congress government is misusing state machinery to suppress dissent and intimidate rivals. Meanwhile, state police officials maintain that they are only following due process and acting on valid complaints. The incident is likely to escalate tensions further, as both parties brace for upcoming political battles, with BRS planning protests and legal responses in the coming days.
