New interstate bus terminal planned in hyderabad
To reduce the heavy traffic and overcrowding at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) and Jubilee Bus Station (JBS), the Telangana government has decided to build a brand-new interstate bus terminal at Aramghar. This new terminal is expected to play a key role in easing the pressure on the existing major bus stations in Hyderabad. With increasing number of buses and passengers every day, the current bus stations are unable to manage the load efficiently.
Aramghar has been chosen as the ideal location because it is well connected to the city’s outer ring road (ORR), highways, and other key areas. This location will allow buses from different states to enter and exit Hyderabad smoothly without causing congestion in the central parts of the city. The government is also focusing on making this terminal a modern and fully equipped facility.
The new terminal will be built with advanced infrastructure. It will include multiple bus bays, a large waiting area, digital ticket counters, food courts, and proper resting rooms for drivers and conductors. There will also be facilities like CCTV surveillance, real-time bus tracking, and clean washrooms. The design will focus on passenger comfort and safety.
One major goal of this terminal is to shift the load of interstate buses away from the city center. At present, most long-distance buses from other states come to MGBS or JBS, adding to city traffic. With the Aramghar terminal, these buses can be diverted, reducing pollution and road congestion in busy city areas.
This terminal will also create new job opportunities for local people during both the construction and operation phases. It will benefit small businesses, shops, and street vendors in and around Aramghar. In the long run, it can also promote economic development in the surrounding areas.
Officials said that this project will be developed in a phased manner. In the first phase, focus will be on completing the basic infrastructure to start bus operations. In later phases, more facilities will be added to make it a world-class terminal. The project will follow eco-friendly building practices and use modern technology for better management.
Passengers traveling from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and other states will find this terminal more convenient. It will reduce travel time as buses won’t have to enter the city. The terminal will also be connected to local bus services and the metro, making it easy for people to reach their destinations from there.
In the coming days, the Telangana government is expected to issue detailed plans and a timeline for the project. Citizens have welcomed the move and are hopeful that this new terminal will bring a big relief from traffic and improve the public transport system in Hyderabad.
