A horrifying murder has come to light in Ghatkesar mandal of Medchal Malkajgiri district, where a woman, along with her boyfriend and mother, allegedly killed her father-in-law and dumped his body in a pond. The motive behind this gruesome act appears to be his opposition to his daughter-in-law’s extramarital affair. The incident came to the fore after the police recovered the body of a man from the Edulabad pond on the 7th of this month, following a tip-off from locals who spotted the floating corpse.
The deceased was identified as Vadluri Linga, a 45-year-old resident of Muggula Basti, Kavadiguda, Hyderabad. Initially, his wife Sharada and daughter-in-law Manisha tried to mislead the police by stating that Linga was an alcoholic who often quarreled with the family and had left home on the night of the 6th. However, the suspicious nature of their statements prompted the police to investigate further, especially due to visible injuries on the body.
The breakthrough came when the police reviewed CCTV footage near the Edulabad pond. The video evidence showed Manisha and her boyfriend returning from a late-night movie, after which they transported the body in a cab and dumped it into the water. This cold and calculated move shattered their earlier claim of Linga having left on his own. The police now believe the murder was premeditated and executed with help from close family members, including Linga’s wife.
Investigators are currently piecing together the full sequence of events and have taken the accused into custody. The trio is being interrogated, and police are likely to press charges of murder and conspiracy. The incident has shocked local residents due to its brutality and the fact that it was allegedly committed by people within the victim’s own household.
