KTR Appears Before ACB in Formula E Investigation
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Hyderabad on Sunday as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding the Hyderabad Formula E race. The probe centers on financial and procedural lapses in organizing the high-profile event held during the previous BRS government. KTR was summoned following a preliminary inquiry that raised questions about fund allocations and approvals.
Speaking to the media outside the ACB office, KTR denounced the summons as a form of “political harassment” by the ruling Congress government. He stated that the case lacks merit and is driven by a vendetta to tarnish the BRS leadership. “I am fully prepared to go to jail if necessary, but I will not bow down to this political witch-hunt,” KTR declared, reiterating his party’s stand that the case is baseless.
The BRS has condemned the move as an attempt to deflect public attention from governance failures and alleged internal rifts within the Congress party. Meanwhile, ACB officials have stated that the investigation is being conducted per legal protocols and further action will depend on KTR’s statements and evidence review. The case has sparked political tensions in Telangana, with the BRS rallying its cadre in support of its senior leader.
