Helicopter fire.. People breathed a sigh of relief after learning the truth!

A “dummy” (fake) helicopter caught fire in Meerpet (Gurramguda) area of Hyderabad on Tuesday evening. No one was lost, no one was hurt. However, there was concern among the people there.

It was a non-flying, fake helicopter made of fiberglass, used for film shooting.

Since the helicopter had been in the area for a few years, local youths used it as a test or game.

Police suspect that the fire was started by some miscreants who threw a bag of tea on it.

The fire broke out at around 4:40 pm. Locals immediately doused the flames with water collected from a nearby borewell.

The Meerpet police station reached the spot and started an initial investigation.

Barring any engineering or natural disasters, there was no major accident as the dummy helicopter had been in use for a long time and there was no fault.

There is now a huge concern among the people, fearing that a major accident could occur if it is thought to be a private helicopter. However, it was only then that they lost their breath when it turned out to be a dummy.
In view of the security measures at the Gurramguda venue in Meerpet, there were no signs of danger as this was not a real helicopter. The fire brigade has taken a fine, a case has been registered and an investigation has been started.
