Earthquake hits Delhi again

An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck the Delhi-NCR region on Thursday morning, sending waves of panic across the capital and surrounding cities. The tremors were felt at exactly 9:04 am and lasted for about 10 seconds, prompting residents to rush out of buildings and homes in fear. The epicenter of the quake is believed to be located in a nearby region, though officials are still verifying the exact coordinates.

Residents in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad reported light to moderate shaking, with some people sharing their experiences on social media. No major damage or casualties have been reported so far, but authorities are conducting checks to ensure infrastructure safety. In several office complexes and residential societies, emergency evacuation procedures were triggered, and people were seen gathering in open areas as a precautionary measure.

The National Center for Seismology confirmed the magnitude and time of the earthquake shortly after the tremors were reported. While 4.1 is considered a moderate magnitude, earthquakes of this level can still be unsettling, especially in densely populated areas like Delhi-NCR. Experts have reiterated the importance of earthquake preparedness, reminding citizens to stay calm and follow safety protocols during such events.

This is not the first time the region has experienced seismic activity in recent months. Delhi-NCR lies in a relatively active seismic zone, making it vulnerable to periodic tremors. With growing urbanization and infrastructure development, disaster management teams emphasize the need for constant readiness and the implementation of strict construction codes to minimize the risk during such natural disasters.
