Corona cases increasing in the country
COVID-19 Cases on the Rise Again in India
India is witnessing a fresh uptick in COVID-19 cases, with 324 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, sparking concern among health authorities. The sudden spike is most visible in southern and western states, indicating a potential regional outbreak. Karnataka leads with 136 new cases, followed closely by Gujarat with 129, and Kerala with 96 positive tests, suggesting that these states are currently facing localized surges.
States with Highest Active Caseloads
According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India currently has 6,815 active COVID-19 cases. Kerala continues to hold the highest number of active cases at 2,053, followed by Gujarat with 1,109, and the national capital Delhi at 691. Maharashtra, which was once the epicenter during earlier waves, has 613 active cases. While Andhra Pradesh reports 86 cases, Telangana has managed to keep numbers low with only 10 active cases, showing a stark contrast in the spread across different regions.
Recent Fatalities Raise Concerns
In a concerning development, three COVID-related deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, signaling that the virus continues to pose a serious health risk despite the low overall numbers. Health experts are urging citizens to remain vigilant, especially in states where cases are rising sharply. The government may consider reinforcing preventive measures and ramping up testing and vaccination efforts in high-risk areas to prevent a wider outbreak.
