CM Directs Sigachi Company to Pay ₹1 Crore Compensation to Families
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the site of the tragic incident at Sigachi Company in Pashamilaram to assess the situation firsthand. During the inspection, he expressed deep concern over the mishandling of safety protocols and the negligence of responsible officials. Dissatisfied with the response and accountability of the authorities, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate formation of a new committee tasked with conducting a detailed investigation and preparing a comprehensive report on the incident.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of expediting the identification process of the deceased victims. He directed officials to ensure that the bodies be handed over to the respective families only after proper DNA testing, to avoid any confusion or distress. This step, he emphasized, is crucial to maintaining transparency and compassion during such a tragic time for the families.
In a firm stance to ensure justice and adequate compensation for the victims’ families, CM Revanth Reddy instructed the company to provide a compensation amount of Rs. 1crore to each bereaved family. He stated that the company must take full responsibility for the lives lost due to the incident and support the families in their time of need. The Chief Minister warned that strict action would be taken against the company if it fails to comply with the directives.
Additionally, the CM announced a financial assistance package of Rs. 5lakh for each of the injured individuals. He directed the health department to provide the best possible medical treatment to those affected and ensure continuous monitoring of their recovery.
