Adulterated Toddy Scandal Shocks Kukatpally: 5 Dead, 31 Hospitalized Tragic Death Toll Reaches Five

A devastating incident unfolded in Kukatpally and KPHB (Kukatpally Housing Board Colony) on Monday night, where five people lost their lives after consuming adulterated toddy. The victims consumed the toxic liquor from five toddy compounds operating in the region. Among the deceased are:

Sitaram (47) – a mason from Sriramnagar Colony

Swaroopa (61) – a housewife from Hydernagar

The identities of the other three victims have not been publicly disclosed yet by the authorities. Medical and police officials fear the death toll could increase further as more victims are in critical condition.
31 Victims Hospitalized; Creatinine Spike Detected

A total of 31 individuals have been hospitalized, suffering from severe health complications after consuming the contaminated toddy. Medical investigations revealed that the cause of death and illness was due to a dangerous spike in creatinine levels, indicating kidney failure likely caused by toxic chemical additives in the toddy.

Devadas and Krishnaiah – both victims are undergoing dialysis to flush toxins from their bodies.

Monappa – another victim, is currently on a ventilator and in a critical condition.

Doctors suspect the toddy may have been laced with industrial-grade chemicals or unauthorized additives to increase potency and shelf life, ultimately proving fatal.

Inspection of supply chains connected to the seized centers

Authorities are currently investigating whether more toddy outlets across the city are involved in similar practices. Forensic testing of the toddy samples is underway to determine the exact composition of the toxic substances.
