Reservation for women in upcoming assembly elections

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made significant comments regarding women’s representation in politics, promising to implement women’s reservation in the upcoming assembly elections. Speaking at a public meeting, the CM declared that his government is committed to ensuring gender equality in the political sphere and will take steps to provide 60 assembly tickets to women candidates. This bold move aligns with the Congress party’s long-standing commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusive governance.

Revanth Reddy emphasized that the state government is striving to create a society where women can live with dignity and pride. He said that the vision is inspired by the legacy of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who was a symbol of strength and leadership. Revanth stated that in “Indira’s Rajyam” (Indira’s kingdom), the goal is to see girls and women rise with confidence, self-respect, and independence, with the government playing a key role in enabling such transformation.

In a continued push for women-centric development, the Chief Minister also reiterated his ambitious promise to make one crore women millionaires in Telangana. This promise is expected to be fulfilled through various economic empowerment schemes, including support for women entrepreneurs, skill development, and financial aid initiatives. The CM’s announcement signals a strong shift toward gender-focused policies ahead of the upcoming elections, aiming to boost the participation of women in both politics and the economy.
