Revanth Sarkar’s Mega Road Plan: ₹6,478 Cr for 373 Roads Across Telangana

Telangana Government Launches Massive Road Development Plan
The Telangana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has initiated an ambitious project to upgrade road infrastructure across the state. A total of 373 roads are set to be developed in the nine erstwhile districts, excluding Hyderabad. This extensive development project aims to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and boost economic activity in rural and semi-urban areas. The state has allocated a substantial budget of ₹6,478 crore for this purpose, signaling its commitment to infrastructure improvement.

Execution Under Hybrid Annuity Mode
The roadworks will be carried out under the hybrid annuity model (HAM), a public-private partnership (PPP) approach that combines the benefits of both EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) models. This method is expected to ensure faster execution and reduced financial burden on the state government. Under this model, 40% of the project cost will be paid by the government during the construction phase, while the remaining 60% will be paid as annuity over a period of time.

Timeline and Tender Process
Minister for Roads and Buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, announced that the tendering process is currently underway and is expected to be finalized by the end of August 2025. Once the tenders are awarded, the government plans to kickstart the construction work in the first week of September. The authorities have instructed officials to follow a strict timeline and ensure transparency in the bidding and project implementation process to avoid any delays.

No Toll Gates, Public-Friendly Policy
In a move aimed at benefiting the general public, Minister Komatireddy clarified that no toll gates will be installed on these newly developed roads. This decision has been welcomed by commuters and local residents, as it removes the burden of additional travel costs. The government’s focus remains on making transportation safer, smoother, and more accessible without imposing financial strain on daily travelers. This initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in the overall development of Telangana’s road network
