Horror on the Highway: Lorry Fire Kills Three, One Critically Injured

A tragic road accident occurred in the early hours of Friday, July 4, at the Ellampeta stage in Maripeda mandal of Mahabubabad district. Two heavy vehicles a poultry material-laden lorry from Vijayawada heading to Gujarat and a granite-loaded lorry traveling from Warangal to Khammam collided head-on at high speed. The impact was so intense that a fire broke out in the cabin of one of the lorries, trapping the occupants inside.

Three individuals were burnt alive in the fire, and another person sustained severe injuries and is in critical condition. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed. Upon receiving the information, police and fire brigade teams rushed to the scene and managed to douse the flames. The charred bodies were retrieved from the cabin and shifted to a local morgue for further identification and post-mortem.

Following the accident, there was a major traffic jam on the Khammam-Warangal highway, causing significant disruption for morning commuters.
