Deadly Encounter in Chhattisgarh: Two Female Maoists Killed

Security forces achieved a significant breakthrough in the fight against Naxal insurgency as two female Maoists were killed in a fierce gunbattle in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) launched a combing operation in the Gangaloor area. During the operation, the Maoists opened fire, leading to an intense encounter. After the exchange, bodies of two armed female cadres were recovered along with weapons and Maoist material.

Officials revealed that the slain Maoists were involved in several violent activities, including recent IED attacks on security personnel. The operation is part of an intensified offensive ahead of the monsoon, targeting Maoist strongholds in the Bastar region. With increased patrols and intelligence-based strikes, authorities aim to weaken Maoist control and restore peace in the affected tribal areas. Further search operations are underway to track down the remaining Maoist group members who fled during the encounter.
