Thailand Makes History: Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri Crowned Miss World 2025

Thailand has achieved a historic milestone as Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 at the grand finale held on May 31 at HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India. This marks Thailand’s first-ever victory in the Miss World pageant, a momentous occasion celebrated by fans and pageant enthusiasts worldwide. Opal, a 22-year-old political science student from Thammasat University, captivated the judges with her eloquence, poise, and commitment to social causes, embodying the pageant’s “Beauty with a Purpose” ethos.

Opal’s journey to the crown was marked by resilience and dedication. Previously crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2024, she placed as the third runner-up at Miss Universe 2024. However, upon her appointment as Miss World Thailand 2025, the Miss Universe Organization revoked her title due to contractual obligations. Undeterred, Opal channeled her experiences into her advocacy work, launching the “Opal For Her” campaign, which focuses on breast health awareness and early detection. Her personal experience with a benign breast tumor at 16 fueled her passion for this cause, aiming to educate and empower women across Thailand.

The 72nd Miss World Festival in Hyderabad was a celebration of culture, purpose, and unity, featuring over 100 contestants from around the globe. Opal’s victory not only brings pride to Thailand but also highlights the importance of advocacy in beauty pageants. As she takes on her role as Miss World 2025, Opal is set to inspire and lead with compassion, continuing her mission to make a positive impact on women’s health and well-being.
